I have tried other Steam mops. Shark's steam was good but built with low quality materials and the plastic broke just assembling it. Steam fast mop never worked, period. I was reluctant to try this one since I had bad luck before but the Dirt Devil name is what made me decide to try again. I was really looking for something more compact but glad I got this instead. The steam is strong and can be adjusted so there is more or less steam. My Oven had baked on guck on the bottom for years and within 20 minutes the steamer and wire brush had it clean and looking brand new and without that nasty oven cleaner chemical smell. The cleaner has a compartment to store all the attachments which is nice and the steamer has a stand so you can store it upright with the mop handle and head attaches to the steamers main body. The wheels turn easily and there is also a front wheel that swivels 360 degrees so you can easily move it around corners. The only draw back is that it doesn't have a crapet attachment but not really worried about that. The mop head has scrub brush bristles all the way around it so you can scrub the floor to get gunk off. Overall I am very pleased with the item and would highly recommend it over any steam mop since it can be used as a more multi purpose item...Plan to clean my barbeque with it next.

I really wanted to love this machine, because I have so many uses for it, but unfortunately, I don't. I'll start will all the PRO's of this machine. Compact size, VERY easy to use, easy storage, clever design for tool storage, large wheels for maneuvering around easy, and a variety of cleaning tools. The CON's are more important to the purchase. The steam is very wet, which makes using the steamer messy. The hose fills with condensation quickly at each pause, and then spits water all over when you begin again. The tools look like they came from a toy set and did not hold up under use. The tools are really poor quality. I know the steamer is under $100.00, but it really should perform better than it did.

This is my first steam cleaner. I just know that when I clean the hotter the water the better (and easier) the cleaning. So I have thought about steam cleaners alot.The one thing that have come to realize is that most of these are just steamers not steam cleaners. What I mean by this is all that is used is water, so you will still have to soap up the surfaces before steaming. (Now I use the Lysol Antibacterial - not for the antibacterial so much but it is the best grease cutter I have ever seen!)Under the tank is a holder for a number of attachments from three small brushes (one of them metal) to a window attachment. So make sure you look for these. The large floor attachment and hose and extension are in the box with the canister. The floor attachement hooks directly onto the hose/extension but the other attachments just fit over the nozzle and occasionally fall of during use.I used this to clean my kitchen over the weekend, including cabinet doors, wall, the range and granite countertops. I used the floor attachment for the larger surfaces and it cleaned them (after spraying with soap) very well. For the smaller and more intricate areas, I used the larger brush. And this worked well but you will have to clean it regularly to prevent moving the dirt from one surface to another, especially greasy areas.The next issue is obvious but not. Since this just creates the steam and does not suck up the water, you will have to wipe down all surfaces first for the dirt and grime that has been loosened and then just to dry the surfaces. Remember steam is just water and this water does not evaporate into the air, it condenses on the cleaned surface.One final issue is that once filled it takes upto 15 minutes before the Dirt Devil starts producing steam. So fill it up and turn it on. Then start the prep of the areas. By this time it should be almost ready.As for the results, it cleaned the unseen accumulation on the cabinets. The counters glistened and the stove looks great. But I cleaned one area of the countertop without the steamer and it glistened just like the rest (and in one quarter of the time). Also, I still had to scour the pan racks of the stove. The DD only just loosed up grime and did not really clean it.Overall, I like this product but as it is not a solution to cleaning but a helper in the process, I can only give it three stars.
